Damon Albarn and Flea’s group to make debut in Ireland this weekend

The long awaited album collaboration from Damon Albarn and Flea of the Red Hot Chili Peppers seems near to completion. The group which also comprises drummer Tony Allen (who is in one of Albarn’s other side-projects ‘The Good, The Bad & The Queen’). They have come up with a title for a “mostly instrumental album”, ‘Rocket Juice & The Moon’ as reported in the Irish Times.

The band will make their live debut at a series of events over the weekend called “Another Honest Jon’s Chop Up!”, which will take place in LondonDublin and Cork. The Events are being organised by ‘Honest Jons’ the record label Albarn co-owns.

Albarn is a famous ‘workaholic’, always keeping busy with some project. He released two Gorillaz albums last year, he has written the score to the short film ‘The Boy in the Oak’, he released a collaboration album of African music in the Congo called DRC Music and there is also tentative plans for an American tour by Blur possibly in 2012.
