Bruce Springsteen In Dublin 2012

Last night I went to see Bruce Springsteen at the RDS Dublin, something I have always wanted to do. It was well worth it. The Boss really is astonishing live. Along with the E-Street Band they played a set of around 3 and a half hours, remarkable for a 62 year old veteran! Early on he played material from latest album ‘Wrecking Ball’, then fired into the old classics. The encore consisted of six songs, including ‘Born In The USA’ (very rarely played), ‘Born To Run’ and ‘Dancing In The Dark’. They paid tribute to late sax player Clarence Clemons at the end during ‘Tenth Avenue Freeze Out.’ He took the piss out’ve the people who cut their Hyde Park show. He even brought a little girl onstage who sang the words to ‘Waiting On A Sunny Day’, which was a great moment. A phenomenal performance, the second gig is tonight and everyone is in for a treat.

Track: New Gaslight Anthem-’45’

Zane Lowe premiered ’45’, the new single by The Gaslight Anthemlast night on his BBC Radio 1 show. As you would expect, this is full of emotion but is very hard hitting also. I’ve been a massive fan of these guys since the ’59 Sound’ and its been great to see their progression. The band’s fourth record will be released in the summer of 2012 at some stage. Brian Fallon’s interview with Lowe was funny, as he said even Bruce Springsteen hasn’t received a copy of it! One to certainly look forward to.

Bruce Springsteen Covers LMFAO On Jimmy Fallon

Yes, this actually happened. This is absolutely hilarious. Bruce Springsteen covered Willow Smith‘s ‘Whip My Hair‘ on Jimmy Fallon last year. Last night he returned alongside Fallon, who rekindled his Neil Young impersonation. They covered LMFAO‘s god awful tune ‘Sexy and I Know It.’ This is brilliant because they make it entertaining, while showing how brutal the original track really is. The Boss is releasing his new album ‘Wrecking Ball’ today.
