AlunaGeorge-‘Your Drums, Your Love’

Wow. This is absolutely magic. AlunaGeorge have only come to my attention recently, but this track and video has really got my attention. ‘Your drums, Your Love’  delves into pop, R’N’B, soul and electronic music. The video is killer too. Check it out.

New Music: Chromatics-‘Kill For Love’

Bit late on this, but I must write about it. The new Chromatics track is really good. Vocalist  Ruth Radelet’s chilled out tones play over typically lush beats. Really enjoyed this.

Ones To Watch: REPLETE

After the emergence of MMOTHS in a big way last year, Irish electronic music has never had a higher profile. This guy is certainly heavily involved in that movement. Peter Lawlor AKA REPLETE is one of the freshest producers I’ve come across in a while. He’s originally from Kilkenny, but now based in Cork. His music is lush, expansive and perfectly paced. His tune ‘Closer To’ was the first tune I came across from him. As people who read this blog know, I am a huge fan of electronic music. This is the best piece of Electronic music I’ve listened to this year. He has also produced stellar remixes of Tara Masterson and an ould band from America called The Beach Boys. I am looking forward to more music from this guy. Exciting stuff. Check out his official sites and some music below:

Track: TNGHT-‘Bugg’N’

This is doing the rounds online. Serious stuff. TNGHT are an electronic duo and ‘Bugg’N’ is a simple slice of music that leaves you wanting more. It received airplay on Zane Lowe last week. I am really digging this.

New Burial & Four Tet Collaboration

Another Burial and Four Tet collaboration dropped last night. ‘Nova’ is a perfect mix of Burial’s trademark dark, moody beats and Four Tet’s bright, chilled touches. I’m a sucker for good electronic music, but even by normal standards this year has been spectacular for great electro tracks so far. This can be added to list.

Track: Mister Lies-‘I Walk’

This. Fuck. Dig this so much. Mister Lies new track ‘I Walk.’ I am on such a buzz for trippy, chillwave electronic music and this is along those lines. This is a track to totally immerse yourself in. Awesome. Also listen to his debut EP ‘Hidden Neighbours’ below:

Ones To Watch: Grouse

Dubliner Ronan Carroll produces weird electronica, but that shouldn’t put you off. His music is dark, ambient and not confined to one particular style. His debut album under the alias of Grouse, ‘We Want To Be Loved’, was released in 2005. The follow up has been a long time coming, but will drop in 2012. He experiments a lot and it will be very interesting to see what record number two will bring. Check out the official Grouse website, Bandcamp, Facebook and MySpace. The Top 20 Tracks Of 2011 Number: 17

Number 17: Washed Out-Amor Fati

This was the year when people started to finally take Chillwave seriously as a sub-genre of electronic music. Out in front alongside Toro Y Moi as the standard bearers was Ernest Greene, better known as Washed Out. The melodic vocals and sweeping loops create a beautiful song, that could be listened to floating in a boat along a stream.
