My Bloody Valentine. Overrated?

There is lots of hype and talk about the reissues of My Bloody Valentine‘s records ‘Loveless’ and ‘Isn’t Anything Right.’ Now I’ll confess I’ve not really listened to them, but the few tracks I have listened to I’ve been underwhelmed. I’m not sure whether I should give them a chance or not. If anyone cares to give me their opinion, feel free to comment below. Until then I’ll leave you with the only track I truly love from them.

New S. Carey EP

Sean Carey AKA S.Carey (AKA the other guy in Bon Iver). That is probably what most people who recognise his name will say. That would be a bit harsh on him, as he released a superb solo record ‘All We Grow’ back in 2010. He has a new EP ‘Hoyas’, which is out this week. ‘Two Angles’ is the first track off it and its really cool. It features sparse use of electronics and drum beats.

Track: Dive-‘How Long Have You Known?’

I’ve only recently discovered Divea guitar pop band led by Beach Fossils frontman Zachary Cole Smith. This track is from their upcoming debut record Oshin and it is a beaut. Sparse guitars and eclectic vocals. Great work. The track should still be available to download for free below!

Ones To Watch: BlkFltchr x AiO

Came across some interesting new stuff from Canada the other day. A rapper/producer duo going under the alias of Blk Fltchr x AiO. The Toronto natives are releasing their first EP ‘Bad Summer’ in April. This EP has a cool twist. The EP samples only material from Bon Iver’s self-titled second recordThe first track ‘MichiCan’ is a remix of sorts. It is a very cool piece of music and I would recommend checking these guys out.
