I’m really into Danny Brown right now. His album ‘XXX’ was one of the best hip-hop records of last year. Here is the video for ‘Grown Up’ off that record. It is a snapshot through his life, including him as a kid. Very cool.

What a serious collaboration. Swizz Beats is on great form here, ASAP Rocky adds a lot to this with his verse, but its araabMUSIK’s beat makes this special. Superb collab.

Azealia Banks is back with new music. ‘Fuck Up The Fun’ is a seriously cool slice of hip-hop. Diplo is on production duties, continuing his top recent form. The beat is heavy and Azealia spits some serious rhymes.
Kwes will be a new name to some. He’s a British multi-instrumentalist and songwriter. He will be known to some for being part of Damon Albarn‘s DRC Music project last year. This tune ‘bashful.’ is absolutely great stuff. There are touches of R’N’B, Hip-Hop and Chillwave in this. You will hear more from this guy in the coming weeks.
Number 16: Frank Ocean-Novacane
The surprise package from the rise of Odd Future, happened to be the infectious R&B tones of Louisiana native Frank Ocean. His mixtape nostalgia, Ultra showed he has a flavour for different musical styles, incorporating elements of Hip-Hop, Neo-Soul and Indie Rock. Novacane is an undoubted highlight, with his voice and lyrics showing the conflict he faces in his head and his dick, love or sex. Teens can definitely relate to this.
