Foals-‘What Remains’

Two years on and I still play this album so much. This is possibly my favourite track from it.

Track: Chapel Club-‘Sleep Alone’

I am well late on this, but I have to write about it. ‘Sleep Alone’ by Chapel ClubI honestly haven’t listened to them much, but this bad boy is a groovy, uplifting tune. Hip-hop style drums accompany dreamy guitars and flickering electronica. This is an unusual direction to take for an Indie band from England, but this is great.

Yeasayer: ‘Longevity’

This is the fucking awesome cover for Yeasayer’s new album ‘Fragrant World’, out August 21st. I’ve also had a chance to listen to the latest track from it, ‘Longevity’, which is a trippy world wind of pop tune. I absolutely love it. So so good. Loving the direction this record seems like its going.

Track: Wild Nothing-‘Shadow’

This is the new Wild Nothing track ‘Shadow’. It’s from the follow up to 2010’s brilliant ‘Gemini’. Looking forward to more.

Track: Hey Sholay-‘Burning’

My attention has been drawn to these guys recently. Hey Sholay from Sheffield and Leeds. Their new single ‘Burning’ is out this coming Monday the 11th. It is a charming track, with bristling guitars and dreamy pianos. The vocalist brings a shining quality to the track too. Their BBC Introducing set is available to check out at their TumblrWell worth checking out. I like it a lot.

New Songs From The xx Online

The xx have been back playing live, with dates in London warming up for their summer festival shows. During these shows, they have performed two new songs, presumably from their upcoming second record. Both tracks are very sparse and low key. Obviously I will leave judgment until the recorded versions are released, but the live versions are below.

Track: Yeasayer-‘Henrietta’

Indie-physch Yeasayer are back with a new single, ‘Henrietta.’ They kept it really quite, only sending the track out to fans via mail. Here it is though. They’ve kept out of the limelight since 2010’s ‘Oddblood’, so I assume a new record is on the way.
