New music from The Bloody Beetroots seems to be on the way. Here’s their new one ‘Rocksteady’. Glad they’re back, spent many a party in 2008/2009 with these guys as these guys as the soundtrack.
Man, this new piece of music by The Antlers is so damn good. I don’t use the word dreamy often, but that would describe this. ‘Drift Dive’ has possibly the most dreamy guitar riff of the year so far, has chilled out vocals and a beautiful crescendo of piano, drums and strings in the background. There is a lot of music that can be described as ‘beachy’, but this is beachy in a different way. I could easily imagine floating down a stream with this playing. Best track of the week for me.

The xx have been back playing live, with dates in London warming up for their summer festival shows. During these shows, they have performed two new songs, presumably from their upcoming second record. Both tracks are very sparse and low key. Obviously I will leave judgment until the recorded versions are released, but the live versions are below.
Scrap that, best news of the day is receiving this. New REPLETE. Absolutely knocks it out’ve the park with this one, ‘Clap Your Hands’ is as brilliant as I would expect. It is pissing rain outside my house, yet this track is so warm it lightened everything up. Great stuff altogether. You can listen and download below.

Zane Lowe premiered ’45’, the new single by The Gaslight Anthem, last night on his BBC Radio 1 show. As you would expect, this is full of emotion but is very hard hitting also. I’ve been a massive fan of these guys since the ’59 Sound’ and its been great to see their progression. The band’s fourth record will be released in the summer of 2012 at some stage. Brian Fallon’s interview with Lowe was funny, as he said even Bruce Springsteen hasn’t received a copy of it! One to certainly look forward to.
